Weekday Special at the E.J. Bowman House in Lancaster County
Weekdays will keep you busy here in Lancaster County, PA. Sunday through Thursday is a great time to visit the area, and what better way to get it started than to book the weekday Bowman Suite special at the E J Bowman House? For only $365.00 for two nights plus tax, you stay in a 2-room 3rd-floor suite, with an ensuite bathroom including a 2-person Jacuzzi. Enjoy a 3-course breakfast consisting of pastry, entrée, and fruit, every morning at 9:00 am, plated and served to you by your innkeepers.
What will keep you busy here, (you’re thinking out loud)! Well, to begin with, weekdays are not as crowded as weekends, so you can enjoy everything from shopping, antiquing, the many small towns, and various tours and shows.
Let’s start with shopping. At The Tanger Outlets, you will find many brand-name stores that are open all day until 7:00 pm. You also have many fine independent retailers in downtown Lancaster, Lititz, Intercourse, and Bird-In-Hand offering unique and one-of-a-kind treasures. Lancaster city itself, has a thriving arts culture with galleries lining Prince Street in the downtown, along with small shops, and fine restaurants too numerous to mention and single out.
Lancaster County is also a great antiquing area, starting with Adamstown, which is called the antiques capital of the U.S. Home to many antique centers and stores, you will spend a day going through it all. Other areas that feature antiquing are Columbia in the western portion of the county, with one to mention being Burning Bridge Antiques, and Strasburg in the southeastern portion of the county.
Tours are still going on throughout the week in the area. Strasburg Scooters is a great way to see the county with various tours (covered bridges, ice cream, and also seasonal tours for fall). You can ride a single-seat scooter, or a scoot coupe (for 2) for a safer ride (with a valid driver’s license), or even if you have a motorcycle license, a Honda PCX. Experienced guides take you through the countryside, highlighting not only tour-related information but other Lancaster County tidbits that you won’t hear anywhere else. Sit back and enjoy!
There are shows to take in through the weekdays also. One I’ll mention in this blog is the Magic and Wonder Theater. You can do just the show, or they are also a dinner theater. Tuesday through Saturday in October during the day they have the Jukebox Jive, featuring songs from the 50’s through the 80’s. Performers with outstanding vocals, variety acts, comedy, and magic, take you back to the variety shows of yesteryears that most remember. At night, they feature Imaginarium, a 3 ½ hour experience featuring the magic of illusionist Brett Myers. He will transport you to a larger-than-life circus or the whimsy of Wonka, and other places that will keep you thoroughly entertained.
Need more? Just ask! Through all these places to see and enjoy, you will find we are centrally located in Lancaster, so why not stay and play with us at the E J Bowman House?
